Representation

Representation is the most important part of any Students' Union; we are here for ALL Students of York College and we are run by Students for Students.

If any one or any group has any issues with any aspect of York College we are here to represent those views to the College. From teaching staff (grassroots) all the way up to the governors we have the opportunity to engage and promote those views. If you need help in how to deal with any such problem please just drop into the SU office and we'll do what we can to help.

Every tutor group within College should have a student rep. Do you know who yours are? Do you have any? If you aren't sure ask your tutor. Alternatively ask in the SU office.

Not only do we sit regularly on major decision-making boards within College but we also have regular 1-2-1 meetings with the Principal, the Deputy Principals and Assistant Principals but, we also sit on smaller boards such as Equality and Diversity, Quality and Curriculum and Student Support and we are also consulted in decision regarding Learner Involvement, Planning and Development and many other issues throughout College.

If you would like us to approach any subject, whether it be course related or related to College as a whole please do not hesitate to contact us at su@yorkcollege.ac.uk
